Alta River Camping is located in northern Norway, Finnmark. Alta city center is five kilometers away.

Alta River Camping has a significant history. The campsite operation started as early as 1968. Initially the campsite had 3 small cabins and the main house. The tent and mobilehome pitches were next to these. Today Alta River Camping represents a modern four-star campsite, and you won´t find similar accommodation closer to the magnificent Alta River.

The reception

Alta River Camping is open all year round.

The reception is located in the white building in the center of the campsite. We are open every day from 9 AM to 11 PM, from 10 AM to 9 PM during the winter season ( 1.10. - 31.4.)

There is a lounge area at the reception where you can read brochures about the area or enjoy a cup of coffee.


For the hungry or thirsty, 300 meters from us you will find Sámi Siida, a hut restaurant with a small Sámi museum and reindeer.
